Posted on June 20, 2013

Lake St. Clair

Walleye and bass fishing have been very good on Lake St. Clair. Walleyes are hitting nightcrawler harnesses fished off the 400 Club and at Metro Beach. Bass fishing has exploded along the American side of the lake with tubes and crankbaits both producing outstanding numbers of smallies.

Lake Orion

Bass fishing is heating up on inland lakes in Oakland County. Anglers report a good largemouth bite on Lake Orion, Lakeville Lake and Stringy Lakes. Bluegill fishing has been good on those lakes as well as East and West Graham lakes and Prince Lake. Look for the ‘gills in the shallows and out to 6 feet. Rubber spiders, flies, wax worms and leaf worms are all producing good results.

Edwardsburg Area

Bluegill fishing has been excellent on most lakes in the area including Diamond, the Juno Chain of Lakes,  Birch Lake and Stone Lake. Wax worms, red wigglers and flies are all taking fish. Bass fishing has slowed a little with many fish in the post-spawn stage. Pike fishing has been quiet. The St. Joe River has finally receded and smallmouth bass action has been very good at Niles.

Coldwater Area

Good numbers of pike and walleyes are hitting on Madison Lake but fishing pressure has been light. A few crappies and bluegills have been caught at Union and Honey lakes. Once the weather stays warm for a spell the action should improve.
