Northwest Minnesota Fishing Report - January 25th, 2013

Posted on January 24, 2013

ALEXANDRIA AREA

Walleyes continue to hit on Lake Miltona in 17 to 25 feet during low-light periods or in 35 feet of water on Lake Carlos. Lake Geneva started giving up keeping-sized perch and the deep holes of Lake Le Homme Dieu, Lake Ida, and Lake Darling are producing crappies at night. Northern pike action has picked up in shallow water on most lakes for anglers and spearers.

BATTLE LAKE

Walleye action has been spotty, but look to Otter Tail Lake in 20 to 25 feet, West Battle Lake in 30 to 35 feet, and Pelican Lake by Ashby in 10 to 15 feet for a few fish to take fatheads during low-light periods. Sunfish and crappies remain active on Deer Lake, East Lost Lake, and South Turtle Lake in 12 to 16 feet. Northern pike are an easy catch on Otter Tail with sucker minnows in 15 to 20 feet.
