Cincinnati youth bass club earns high marks
The Cincinnati Youth Bass Club (CYBC) was recently named the 2012 Outstanding Overall Junior Chapter by the Ohio Bass Federation. It was the third consecutive year the club earned the recognition, according to advisor Angela Poling.
Members will receive their award at the bass federation's annual open meeting on Feb. 2 in Columbus.
CYBC membership now stands at 22 with a waiting list of kids ages 11 to 18 seeking to join for the 2014 fishing season. Four anglers younger than 11 are enrolled in the offshoot Tadpole Club.
CYBC members will elect new officers on Feb. 22 during the group's regular organizational meeting at the Bass Pro Shop Mall in Cincinnati. A fundraiser is scheduled for Feb. 16 at Dixie Marine in Fairfield.
CYBC's fishing season will kick off April 14. The location of that event is pending.
Club tournaments are set for April 20 at Hidden Valley Lake; May 11 at Lake Lorelei, and June 2 at Indian Lake.
Members will also participate in the Ohio Bass Federation Nation tournament on May 5.
