STARBUCK AREA
Most lakes reopened with the wind and warm weather so there hasn’t been anyone fishing, although there was a week ago. The key to walking on area lakes again by this weekend will be the wind throughout this week. It’s expected to get cold enough for ice to take hold, it’s likely more a matter of if it calms down.

WILLMAR AREA
Some ice fishing had begun on the shallow, prairie lakes last week but that ended over the weekend with strong winds and warm temperatures damaging the ice even more on Monday. A few nights of cold, calm weather should allow the ice to quickly develop and begin the foot travel process on select lakes.
