ELY AREA

Crawlers or leeches are working best for walleyes at Shagawa Lake in seven to 10 feet, the Mile Island area on Fall Lake in 10 feet, in eight to 24 feet at Farm Lake, and on the reefs in seven to 18 feet at Basswood Lake. Minnows are working best for ‘eyes at Bear Island Lake in 18 feet and Bear Head Lake in 10 to 22 feet. Lake trout are being found over 70 feet and hitting spoons at Burntside Lake.

GRAND MARAIS AREA

Minnows are producing walleyes in 12 to 18 feet or 25 to 32 feet at Lake Saganaga, in 22 to 32 feet at Seagull Lake, and in 25 feet of water at Brule Lake. Crankbaits are the ticket for walleyes in 12 to 17 feet at Two Island Lake or eight to 12 feet at Devil Track Lake. Lake trout are hitting spoons or ciscoes over 60 to 80 feet at Greenwood Lake, 30 to 45 feet at Duncan and Daniels lakes, and 50 to 70 feet at Saganaga. Crawlers are producing rainbow trout in 18 to 22 feet at Kimball Lake or splake and rainbows in 17 feet at Esther Lake. Fly fishing at Carrot Lake has been productive for brook trout.
