Stuffed Venison Burgers – A Taste of the Wild Recipe Contest Winning Entry

An Original Wild Game Recipe

Stuffed Venison Burgers

1 1/2 lbs Ground Venison

3 Slices Deli Ham – thin sliced type

3 Slices Sharp Cheddar Cheese

1 Cup Italian Bread Crumbs

1/2 Cup Parmesan cheese

1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup

Milk (enough to fill soup can 1/4 full) approx. 1/4 to 1/3 Cup

Margarine (or butter) for frying.

 

Make 6 thin large patties with the ground venison.

On 3 of the patties, layer the ham & cheddar cheese slices.

Top with other 3 venison patties & press edges together.

Mix bread crumbs & parmesan cheese in a pie pan.

Coat patties in the bread crumb mixture & fry in pan with margarine til browned.

Mix the soup with 1/4 can of milk and place in a baking dish.

Add the browned patties to the baking dish and cover. Bake in covered baking dish at 325 degrees for an hour.

Optional: Sprinkle some of the leftover bread crumb mixture on top during baking.

Serve with mashed potatoes & a vegetable.
