Pennsylvania’s Danielle Green, Ohio’s Chase Jindra top shooters at nationals

Shooters from the Great Lakes region dominated the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation‘s Scholastic Clay Target Program National Championships, held recently in Marengo, Ohio.

Danielle Green of Evans City, Pa., was the top overall female shooter and also won the college female division. Chase Jindra of Spencer, Ohio, was the top overall male shooter and also won the senior/varsity male title.

Other Great Lakes shooters winning individual titles were Jessica Strasser, Waterford, Wis., female senior/junior division; Mark Beardsley, Glen Rock, Pa., male college division; and Tristan Schroder, Battle Creek, Mich., male intermediate/advanced.

On the team side, led by Jindra, the Buckeye Chippewa Trapshooting Club of Ohio won the Bunker Trap title in the open division. Wisconsin’s Flyway Clay Slayers finished second.

In the senior division, the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars of Iowa finished second behind Colorado’s Rocky Mountain Clay Busters.

Held July 8-15 at the Cardinal Shooting Center, more than 2,300 athletes representing 29 states competed in the shooting disciplines of trap, skeet and sporting clays.
