Colton Sherman leads Brandon-Evansville to Class 2A titles at Trap Shooting Championship

Led by the top shooter of the day, Brandon-Evansville High School claimed the overall title in the Class 2A competition Tuesday at the Minnesota State High School League Trap Shooting Championship at Alexandria Shooting Park in Alexandria.

The Class 3A championships were in progress Wednesday.

B-E also won the varsity team championship, while Wabasso led the way in the junior varsity team competition and Braham won the Novice team title.

Colton Sherman won the boys high gun varsity and overall titles to pace B-E. Other winners:

Blair VanZee, Madelia, varsity girls; Tyler Young, Osakis, junior varsity boys; Pearl Lacoursiere, Red Lake Falls, junior varsity girls; Luke Gould, Braham, novice boys; and Kaley Murken, Minnewaska, novice girls. For complete 2A results, click here.

The event, regarded as the world’s largest shooting sport event, runs through Tuesday, June 20. The championship serves as a team qualifier for the state tournament, scheduled June 24 at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake.
