Southwest Pennsylvania Fishing Report – April 11th, 2013

Allegheny River

Some nice walleyes and a few muskies were released in March. Smallmouth bass were reported around the mouths of tributaries such as Deer Creek.

Monongahela River

Fishing picked up on the river at the end of March, with walleye and white bass releases reported. Crappies were hitting in 6 to 8 feet on soft plastics behind 1⁄8-ounce jigs or minnows in Mon River tributaries. Bass and a few muskies were reported in parts of Ten Mile Creek near Fredericktown.

North Park Lake (Allegheny County)

Now open to year-round fishing, this recently restored impoundment was yielding stocked trout on tipped jigs suspended below bobbers.
