Southeast Pennsylvania Fishing Report – December 21st, 2012

Tulpehocken Creek (Berks County)

Water was a little low Dec. 8 and trout were rising to midges. Nymphs and streamers also were effective.

Lake Nockamixon (Berks County)

 Bass and crappies were hitting and anglers were starting to pick up walleyes, Dec. 9.

Delaware River

Decent fishing was reported as of Dec. 9, with anglers targeting walleyes, smallmouth bass, channel cats, brown bullheads, walleyes and the occasional striper near Easton.

Little Lehigh, Jordan creeks (Lehigh County)

Good water levels and water clarity were reported Dec. 9. A fair migration of ducks, Canada geese and other waterfowl was reported, with numbers expected to pick up when lakes up north begin to freeze. Bob Danenhower of Bob’s Taxidermy reported more nice bucks in the shop this year than in five years, with most being harvested from private land around Philadelphia suburbs, Bethlehem and Easton.
