Metro Area Fishing Report – December 7th, 2012
LAKE MINNETONKA AREA
There’s a skim of ice along the shorelines, but the wind and warm weather earlier this week eliminated the ice that had developed. This area is basically starting over from an ice making standpoint.
Wayzata Bait (952) 473-2227
There isn’t any ice to report in this area after strong winds and warm weather took care of what did exist on the small lakes. It will take several days of cold, calm weather for ice to form again to the point that anglers can think about walking out.
Blue Ribbon Bait & Tackle (651) 777-2421
Everything was wide open after the wind and warm weather earlier this week. Even where ice had started to take hold on some of those small lakes and bays, it was gone by Monday night. The ice-making process basically is starting all over again.
Cabin Fever Sports (952) 443-2022
Ice had started to form and there was some limited fishing options last week, but the wind earlier this week chewed up most of it. It will take a run of cold, calm nights before anglers can think about walking on area lakes anytime soon.
