Six town hall meetings with Deer Czar now fully set
The Wisconsin Conservation Congress and Dr. James Kroll have finalized the meeting locations for the six April town hall forums that will be offered across the state as a means of giving sportsmen a chance to deliver their thoughts on Wisconsin deer management to Kroll. Kroll had met earlier with a number of Wisconsin conservation groups by invitation only.
All of the six town hall meetings will take place from April 16 through April 21.
"The purpose is to gather ideas and solutions from citizens, sportsmen and sportswomen to help forge a new age for Wisconsin’s deer management practices," said Conservation Congress Chairman Rob Bohmann.
Kroll was hired by the Wisconsin Department of Administration at the direction of Gov. Scott Walker to serve a six-month contract as the state's "deer trustee" to conduct review of Wisconsin’s deer management practices. The town hall style meetings will be held at the following locations:
Appleton – Monday, April 16 7-10 pm Appleton North High School – Auditorium/Theater 5000 N. Ballard Rd., Appleton;
Rhinelander – Tuesday, April 17 7-10 pm Rhinelander High School – Auditorium 665 Coolidge Avenue, Rhinelander;
Hayward – Wednesday, April 18 7-10 pm Hayward Intermediate School – Gymnasium 15930 W. 5th Street, Hayward;
Black River Falls – Thursday, April 19 7-10 pm Black River Falls Middle School – Lunda Theater 1202 Pierce Street, Black River Falls;
Mount Horeb – Friday, April 20 7-10 pm Mount Horeb High School – Auditorium 305 S 8th Street, Mount Horeb;
Milwaukee – Saturday, April 21 10 am – 1 pm Tommy G. Thompson Youth Center, Wisconsin State Fair Park 640 South 84th Street, West Allis.
