My mom, Rita Nelson age 79 shot a 6x6 Bull Elk on Tuesday evening, October 10, 2017 in Lancaster Minnesota, Zone 20. It was my mom's first time applying for an Elk tag and I swear that women has a horseshoe and or lucky charm within her bones. My dad has been gone from lung cancer now for 13 years, who was an avid hunter in his own right, so we feel for sure there is divine intervention when ever we are in the hunting woods!! My mom has harvested the biggest 12 point buck on their hunting to date and last year shot the biggest buck among any of us 8 hunters. I am so proud of my mom and we can't thank enough the farmers in the Lancaster area that helped us recover, gut, skin and load the huge elk, Joe Waupleski, Carl Chrisopherson, Daryll & CJ Peterson.

Brian Galleger. Fort Riley, Kansas. Pre-season 2016. This photo was at the height of my preparation this season. At least 6 days a week I was shooting and working my shot groups to ensure I don't miss a chance and take a clean ethical shot no matter the situation. This is my first year bowhunting or really dedicated to archery and in that time I have learned to confidently take shots at 90+ yards and have already taken my first buck. The impact archery has made on my life is astounding and I just wanted to share. instagram: bjg_archery
Good morning I would like to submit this photo with a memorable tale. One of my co-workers had been pursuing this deer since last years trail photos. They found one shed from this beast this past winter. He had trail cam photos of the 17 pointer 8 days in a row but all after legal hunting hours. With this cold front pushing through he decided to get on stand and see if this buck might move earlier.....and that's what happened. This buck has a 19.5" spread and is unofficially estimated to be close to 180". With the help of friends and family and 8 hours later the buck was recovered. The buck had crossed a river, the blood trail was discovered and lost twice. The determination and persistence by trackers pointed toward the buck possibly re-entering the river and possibly dying in there. It was then decided to drive over an hour away to borrow a canoe and search downstream. The buck was recovered downstream two miles later. I have trail cam photos to share if requested. This is Jordan Loeks first ever bow kill and the bar has been set high for him now into the future. The deer was harvested in west central, Minn.
